Our 5th Annual Peace UCC Charity Golf Tournament was held on Thursday, November 3rd at Starmount Forest Country Club with proceeds benefiting Nevus Outreach, Inc. The event was a great success with over 50 golfers participating. Peace
Church also sponsors basketball and softball teams in the Greensboro
Parks & Recreation
Church League. The Churchmen’s Fellowship meets on the third Monday of each month for devotions, dinner, programs, and fellowship. We hope you’ll join us for our next gathering! Our meals range from cookouts in the summer to fabulous lasagna made by the excellent cooks in our Women’s Circles. Our programs include professors from the local universities as well as executives from our UCC ministries. Each fall we sponsor a benevolent project, making huge pots of Brunswick stew to sell to the Greensboro community. With the profit from it and other income, charitable donations are made to various church and community related ministries. In 1952 the Churchmen’s Fellowship sponsored an Easter Breakfast following the Sunrise Service. The service and the fellowship time at breakfast were both so meaningful that Peace UCC has continued this fine tradition ever since. Churchmen’s Fellowship seeks to enlist and coordinate the man power of the church “for the cultivation of the Christian life through study, prayer, fellowship and service, and for the support and success of the whole program of the church in the local congregation, the community, the denomination, and the world at large.” It has been an active functioning part of this congregation since the early 1940’s. Dinner reservations may be made by calling 336-299-8663. The Women’s Fellowship of Peace United Church of Christ cordially invites you to visit one or more of our circle groups and learn about the many things we are doing locally and nationally. The Women’s Fellowship is one of the most active and vital organizations in the life of Peace United Church of Christ. With emphasis on fellowship and service, the Women’s Fellowship serves the local church, the community, and the world through its four circles of dedicated women. Monthly meeting times allow women to choose one that fits their preference and are as follows:
Circle # 1 - 10:00 A.M. the firstTuesday after the first Sunday Circle # 2 - 2:00 P.M. the first Monday after the first Sunday Circle # 3 - 7:30 P.M. the first Monday after the first Sunday Circle # 4 - 10:00 A.M. the first Monday after the first Sunday
Some of the ways the Women’s Fellowship contributes, in addition to their regular circle meetings, are:
The Women’s Fellowship organization at Peace Church is a wonderful way to participate in service to others and at the same time enjoy the fellowship of dedicated, Christian women through one of the circle groups.
