Peace United Church of Christ Peace Church provides Bible study experiences that are biblically sound, personally relevant and intensely practical. Adult Sunday School is dedicated to this purpose. It is our privilege to study the Word of God so that we can better understand God and how God would have us live our lives. Peace offers a number of classes for adult Sunday School. We invite you to find a class that fits your search and join us on the journey.
Each Sunday this
class comes together and makes a focused effort to learn something
new about
the Bible or to notice God’s work in
this world. This class is composed primarily of young and median aged
adults, both married and single. The class meets for coffee and homemade
treats at 9:30 a.m. and transitions into the lesson by 9:45 a.m. The Ambassador Class These ambassadors of goodwill range from median adults to seniors
both working and retired. They enjoy their time together both in and
out of the Sunday School hour. Their regular teachers are Darryl Andrews,
Lynn Hamilton and Jim Shoffner. They use The Present Word as their
study curriculum.
A visitor to this
class of older adults would indeed find a community that provides
a warm
and comforting welcome. Their teachers share leadership
in a rotating schedule. They use the UCC Uniform Series as their stating
place for Bible study. Their class motto is from Isaiah: “They
will still bring forth fruit.”
Led now by Doris Yeattes, this class of senior women has been studying
together for over 40 years. They remain as hospitable as always, ready
to welcome any newcomer into their midst. They use as their Bible study
guide the David C. Cook Bible in Life series. The Fesperman Bible Class Our senior men’s Sunday School class is taught by Gaines Whitley. It has been in existence since the 1920’s and has a small but loyal following. Come and join them for meaningful discussion and good memories. Location: First Floor, Room 106 These descriptions are general guidelines only. We encourage you to visit more than one class and join where you feel most comfortable. Class members do not have to "promote" as age and stage of life changes occur.
